BURR OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A woman is in custody for fatally shooting a man in his head during a domestic dispute, authorities said.
Maria Audrey-Louise Williams, 34, of Burr Oak was arrested Thursday night and charged Friday with one count of open murder and one count of felony firearm, according to a news release from St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough.
The victim, 35-year-old Dennis Brooks, was shot once in the head with a .38 caliber handgun, McDonough said.
Brooks was located Thursday night near the intersection of Farrand and Townline roads in Burr Oak Township, north of Sturgis, the Sturgis Journal reports.
