Lady Sailors hope third time is the charm

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — The South Christian girls basketball team punched their ticket to the Class B State Championship with a 52-47 win over Bullock Creek Friday night at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.

It’s the high school’s third trip to a state championship this school year, but both the boys football team and the girls volleyball were unsuccessful in their attempts to bring home the state’s top honor.

South Christian overcame 33 turnovers and a late push by Bullock Creek with a late corner bucket from Dani Oeverman and made their free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

The Sailors will play Eaton Rapids Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the Breslin Center to decide the Class B State Championship.
