WMU advances to NCAA Tournament

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Top-seed Western Michigan has advanced to the NCAA National Tournament after a 98-77 win over Toledo Saturday night in the Mid-American Conference championship game.

This is WMU’s third appearance in the Big Dance. The last time they were in the NCAA National Tournament was in 2004 after beating Toledo in the Conference Championship game.

David Brown had 32 points, Tucker Haymond put 21 points on the scoreboard and Shayne Whittington had 20 points with 13 rebounds.
