Applebee’s gets a new look and gives back

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) Applebee’s restaurants in Michigan are making a pledge to not only be a good place to eat, but also be a part of the community.

Team Schostak, a family-owned company out of Livonia, now owns dozens of Applebee’s restaurants in Michigan. It is making a huge impact through investing in the individual communities it serves.

Each facility is getting a customized and unique local makeover. One of them is the Applebee’s on Gull Road in Kalamazoo. They’ve taken down the old memorabilia that used to cover the walls and replaced it with murals that celebrate the West Michigan area and local community, including area businesses and high school sports teams.

The Gull Road Applebee’s is having a re-opening celebration on Wednesday, March 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to Communities in Schools of Kalamazoo.
