Assault suspect accused of attempted murder

SPRINGFIELD, Mich. (WOOD) – A 24-year-old Battle Creek man is in jail on numerous charges, including assault with intent to commit murder.

Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 11:20 a.m. March 14 to The Barberry Townhouses on Locust Street in Springfield in reference to an assault complaint.

While investigating the assault, deputies recognized the accused assailant as being the suspect in a joint investigation conducted by the Detroit Police Department and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department regarding an assault with intent to commit murder.

The suspect was immediately arrested.

He also faces charges of domestic assault and violation of a conditional release.
