HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) – Authorities have identified a man who was found dead in Barry County.

The victim is Stephen Edwin Lawrence, 53, from Hastings.

A dog walker noticed Lawrence unresponsive and lying face down in the snow near a foot bridge, which crosses the Thornapple River, near the intersection of Hanover Street and East Mill Street, around 3:0 p.m. March 14.

Hastings Police Chief Jerry Sarver told 24 Hour News 8 last week that there were no obvious signs of trauma, nor that a crime had been committed at the scene.

A police news release from the Hastings Police Department states foul play was not committed, and that autopsy results are pending.
