Slick roads result in many crashes

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Many crashes occurred Thursday morning around West Michigan due to icy roads.

Six rollovers and several slide-off crashes happened in Muskegon and Oceana counties, a rescue personnel told 24 Hour News 8.

Other counties reported such incidents, including these updates, according to Michigan Department of Transportation –

KENT COUNTY:

11:55 a.m. — Eastbound M-11 (28th Street) after Byron Center Avenue in Wyoming in Kent County is now open after a fatal crash occurred earlier

9:08 a.m. — All lanes are now open on southbound U.S. 131 at 28th Street in Kent County after a crash occurred earlier

8:28 a.m. — Southbound U.S. 131 at 28th Street in Grand Rapids has only the left lane open due to a crash

8:16 a.m. — Southbound U.S. 131 at M-11 (28th Street) in Grand Rapids has only the right lane open due to a crash

8:12 a.m. — Eastbound M-11 (28th Street) after Byron Center Avenue in Wyoming in Kent County is closed due to a fatal crash
