GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) What better way to bid adieu to winter than with chili, beer, and some blues? The second annual Chilly, Blues & Brews event at the B.O.B. in Grand Rapids is happening on Saturday, March 22. The event features a chili cook-off where chefs must use a Michigan-brewed beer as one of the ingredients. The winner will be awarded based on voting by a celebrity panel and the people’s choice. The competitor with the best chili receives a trip to The Gilmore Collection’s Redstone Inn in Colorado.
Fifty teams are expected to participate in the competition. Admission is free from noon until 7 p.m. After 7 p.m., entry is $5. Chili samples are $0.50 each, and sampling is from 1:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will also be a Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest for attendees. You can also enjoy live music throughout the night.
