GRPD investigates 2 separate shootings

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids Police are investigating two different shootings that happened early Saturday morning.

Just after midnight, police were called out to a shooting on Oakland Street near Eastern Avenue.

Police are looking for a suspect in that case. The victim is expected to be OK from the shooting.

Around 4:30 a.m., police were called out to Franklin Avenue at Geneva Street.

The victim told police that he was walkng down the street when the suspect approached him and tried to rob him.

The victim told police he took off running and that’s when the suspect fired a couple of shots at him. The victim was hit in his backside and knee.

Police say the victim will be OK, but the gunman is still on the run.

If you have any information about either shooting, you are asked to call Grand Rapids Police or Silent Observer.
