Man shot in back in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo police are investigating after one person was shot Sunday afternoon.

It happened just after 1 p.m. in the 1000 block of Interfaith Boulevard off Woodward Avenue, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

A 29-year-old Galesburg man was sitting in the a vehicle when he was shot once in the back, KDPS says.

He was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in a private vehicle, at which point officers were called.

The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
