Sheriff’s dept: 7 break-ins over weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kent County Sheriff’s Department says seven businesses were broken into, sustained damage or burglarized last weekend.

At Stiles Salon and BC Pizza on Belmont Center NE in Belmont on Saturday night, glass was broken. The pizza parlor’s register was stolen.Kent County break-ins 032414

On M-57/14 Mile Road NE near Cedar Springs, the Domino’s Pizza, Hair Tailors and another business had windows or doors smashed in.

On the south side of the Grand Rapids area, Carmelo’s Restaurant on 68th Street SE and a Subway restaurant on Kalamazoo Avenue SE also had doors smashed.

Authorities are advising business owners to be vigilant, and asking citizens to call police if they see anything suspicious.
