PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has been sentenced for a murder that happened more than a decade ago.

Ray Barry was sentenced Monday to life in prison for the murder of Chris Green.

Green was found dead in a ditch in Van Buren County’s Geneva Township in December 2002. He had been stabbed and beaten.

Barry, now 34, lived in the same Bangor neighborhood as Green at the time of the murder.

In 2009, a team revisited Green’s case. They returned to Barry as a suspect and were able to gather enough information to arrest and charge him.

Barry was charged with the murder in December 2012. He was already in prison at the time on an unarmed robbery conviction.
