BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for a portion of the City of Battle Creek after the water system was shut down for repairs.

The potential of bacteria entering the system exists whenever the water system pressure is reduced, City officials said in a news release.

So the City is advising residents to boil their water for one minute and let it cool before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, etc. as a precaution.

The affected areas are –

  • Parkway Drive from Hubbard Road to Plymouth Street
  • Jordan Street from Parkway Drive to Roseneath Avenue
  • Parkway Manor Apartments

The City will restore water pressure and lift the advisory as soon as the work is complete, which could be a minimum of 24 hours.
