Pratt appointed Hastings police chief

HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) — The City of Hastings has chosen its next police chief.

Jeff Pratt, currently the deputy chief, was appointed as the city’s next chief at Monday night’s city council meeting.

Current Chief Jerry Sarver announced in January he will retire effective April 25, at which point Pratt will take over.

Pratt has been with Hastings Police Department for 26 years, according to a release from Sarver, and has been deputy chief for the last two.
