GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Every year, children from all over the country are cared for in a state-of-the-art hospital designed just for them, a place filled with experts in all kinds of pediatric health care specialties. And every year, the community comes out to raise funds for pediatric research at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital when they attend the annual Gala.
The Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Gala 2014 in on Saturday, April 19. Money raised at the event will go toward pediatric research. Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital says research can lead to treatment options in areas ranging from cancer to diabetes to cardiovascular conditions. Unfortunately, pediatric research is underfunded, even though children make up 50% of the population with rare diseases.
The gala is on April 19 at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. Dress is black tie. Tickets are $200 per person. Click here to go online to register.
