GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) The Gazelle Girl 5K run/walk and half marathon is an event just for women. But one of the unique elements of the race is the connection between the runners and its charity partners. One of those charity partners is the YWCA.
The YWCA provides services for domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sexual abuse. They help victims through the healing process… from treatment to counseling to prevention.
The Gazelle Girl is Sunday, April 13. You can still sign up for the race online. Then come out for the WOTV Network Night at the Grand Rapids Art Museum! It’s a free evening of fun with your lady friends as you get inspired for the Sunday run.
While you’re at Network Night, you can connect with Fellow Flowers, a women’s running movement that honors, shares, and celebrates the reasons behind why women run. You can tell who they are by the beautiful, bright flowers they wear while they run. They come in ten different colors which all represent different words spoken and inspired by real women.
Fellow Flowers represent the miles, all the training, and the transformation people go through along the way. You can see which flowers fit best with your story at the WOTV 4 Women Network Night… then don a flower when you run!
