Giant sinkhole opens up on Detroit road

DETROIT (WOOD) — A section of a Detroit road has been shut down after a large sinkhole opened up in the middle of it, according to NBC affiliate WDIV-TV.

The sinkhole was discovered Friday on Linwood near Monterey Avenue.

It appeared the sinkhole was about 30 feet in diameter, WDIV-TV reported.

Crews roped off the area surrounding the hole to keep people away from the hazard.
