DETROIT (WOOD) — General Motors is telling dealers to stop selling some of its cars, but they aren’t releasing a reason behind that decision.

Dealers were told to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze compact cars that have 1.4-liter engines in an email Thursday.

Stop-sale orders are routine and are usually issued to fix a safety problem.

The stop-sale order comes as GM deals with fallout from a delayed recall of 1.6 million cars to fix an ignition switch problem. That problem has been linked to 31 crashes and at least a dozen deaths.
