Lowell police confiscate 20 pot plants

LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — Three Ohio natives could be in trouble after Lowell police found them with marijuana.

Lowell police raided a home in the 700 block of E. Main Street around 11 a.m. Monday and found 20 pot plants, along with irrigation and lighting systems to help grow the plants.

A 31-year-old man and two women, ages 25 and 30, were there.

Police say the man had a medical marijuana card, but that he was not acting within the guidelines of the state’s medical marijuana law.

The case is being forwarded to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office and is expected to be reviewed later this week to determine what charges, if any, are appropriate.
