Man arrested after early morning stabbing

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was arrested after a woman was stabbed Tuesday morning.

Around 1:30 a.m., Battle Creek Police were called out to Green Street near Yuba Street to reports of a female being stabbed. When they arrived, a male suspect ran on foot.

Officers brought in a K-9 unit to search for the suspect. The suspect went into a residence in the 100 block of Green Street, but the K-9 unit went in and got the suspect.

Police say the suspect is being charged with home invasion, one count of felonious assault and one count of resisting & obstructing.

The female victim was treated at the scene for her injuries.
