EAST LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State University police say a student made up a story about being assaulted by two men on campus.
The 19-year-old co-ed initially told police that she encountered two men on Beal Entrance near West Circle Drive around 12:30 a.m. March 23. She said they followed her for a short distance after she passed them at a bus stop, and then one of them grabbed her wrist. She said she struggled and the man hit her in the face.
But that wasn’t true, the MSU Police Department said in a Tuesday release. Police say the woman’s family told them the story was a fabrication.
“As a result of the investigation it was determined that the incident did not occur,” the release reads in part.
