PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed Wednesday afternoon after his pickup truck rolled over off I-94 near Hartford.

Michigan State Police Troopers arrived at the scene on eastbound I-94 near mile marker 48 in Hartford Township around 3 p.m. and the truck. The driver had been ejected, according to a MSP release.

The driver, who has been identified as 42-year-old Frederick Neil Alburtus from Lawrence, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that Alburtus was driving erratically before the rollover.

The preliminary investigation found that Alburtus wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time he lost control of his  vehicle, which ran off the road and rolled over, according to a release.

MSP are still investigating and alcohol doesn’t seem to be a factor in the deadly crash.
