Police: Man fired shots into truck

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) –A 58-year-old man is in custody after police said he fired a round at a truck with a 57-year-old man inside.

Battle Creek Police said in a news release they were called to the residence in the 600 block of East Emmett Street about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday for a welfare check of the man inside the truck.

The victim was not hit by any bullets.

Police said the victim claims he argued with the 58-year-old man inside the home, leading up to the shots being fired at his truck.

The 58-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charged with assault with intent.

The victim in the case, the 57-year-old was not taken into custody but he was charged with felonious assault for allegedly hitting the suspect in the head with a chair while inside the home.
