The stabbing was reported just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 8000 block of E. Sidney Road in Crystal Township, east of Stanton.

Montcalm County sheriff’s deputies found the victim, a 24-year-old man who has not yet been named, with injuries from a stab wound to his abdomen, according to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim was first taken to a hospital in Carson City and then later transferred to a hospital in Grand Rapids where he had to have surgery. Sheriff’s officials said he was in stable condition.
