The Whitecaps are ready for opening day

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) It’s been a long and snowy winter, so let’s start thinking summer! One sure sign that it’s coming is baseball returning to West Michigan! The crew at Fifth Third Ballpark is making this year’s opening day for the West Michigan Whitecaps extra special, after a fire destroyed part of the concourse on January 3. Rebuilding has been happening since then, and they say they’re ready to open on Tuesday, April 8!

Tickets are still available for the opening day game at 6:35 p.m. Prices start at $6.

You can get a chance to go to the game, on us! WOOD TV is giving away four family prize packs of four tickets each, plus one lucky winner, who will receive a grand prize to throw out the first pitch with Chief Meteorologist Bill Steffen! The winners will be announced from the ballpark on 24 Hour News 8 Daybreak on Tuesday, April 8, between 4:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Tickets can be picked up from a WOOD TV staff member at Fifth Third Ballpark.
