GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — West Michigan businessman Bob Goodrich is running on the Democratic ticket for the U.S. Third Congressional District seat.

Goodrich is the president of Grand Rapids-based Goodrich Quality Theaters. His website indicates he is running on a jobs platform, with a focus on gender inequality in the workplace.

“Bob strives to introduce a new political conversation to West Michigan. He is shifting focus to the individual. And not simply getting the vote of the citizen, but listening to their story and figuring out solutions for the difficulties that many face everyday,” a statement on his website reads in part.

Incumbent Third District Rep. Justin Amash already faces a challenger in the August primary from fellow Republican Brian Ellis, a West Michigan businessman.

Every seat of the U.S. House  of Representatives will be up for election this November. The Third Congressional District covers parts or all of Barry, Calhoun, Ionia, Kent and Montcalm counties.
