NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — Norton Shores police have released surveillance video in a Tuesday cellphone store burglary that may have been committed by the same people who broke into two other stores the same morning.
The Sprint store at 5169 Harvey St. was robbed around 6:12 a.m. Tuesday, the Norton Shores Police Department said in a release.
Five suspects broke in through a rear door and stole “numerous” cellphones and other devices in a matter of minutes, police say. All five wore hooded sweatshirts, masks and gloves.
Surveillance video from a nearby store shows the suspect’s vehicle — a dark SUV — circling the Sprint store and then parking at the back door.
NSPD said in its release it is still trying to determine whether the robbery is related to a similar burglaries in the Allendale area that happened the same morning.
But Ottawa County authorities said Tuesday they believe the same group is responsible for the Norton Shores burglary, a burglary at an Allendale Township Sprint store around 7 a.m. and another burglary at an Allendale Verizon store the same morning.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance footage of the Allendale Township Sprint burglary on Tuesday.
