IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) — Aero Med was called to Ionia Sunday after a motorcyclist was injured in a crash.
It happened just before 3 p.m. in the area of Sprague and S. State roads, according to a release from the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said 23-year-old Vanessa Miller of Ionia was driving west on Sprague in a Pontiac when she turned in front a westbound motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, 59-year-old Charles Maroulis of Orleans, hit the driver’s side of the Pontiac and came to a rest on its hood.
Ionia County Central Dispatch told 24 Hour News 8 Maroulis was unconscious immediately following the crash. Maroulis was conscious by the time Aero Med arrived on the scene. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
He was wearing a helmet, dispatchers said.
Miller was not hurt. She was cited at the scene, though a Sunday release did not specify the nature of that citation.
