Helping older adults live independently

JENISON, Mich. (WOOD) As people get older, some common things we do every day can get a little more difficult. But with the right tools and a little help from some experts in occupational therapy, those tasks can be made manageable.

The Sunset Home Services program with Sunset Retirement Communities is committed to keeping seniors safe in their own homes. They have staff members who can come into an older adult’s home, look at their surroundings, and adapt or modify them for what they need. Whether it’s a disability, illness, or recovering from surgery, they have devices, tips, and tricks that will allow the patient to do everything from eating to retrieving items from cabinets to putting on socks and shoes. They also help with safe bathing and preventing slips and falls.

The Sunset Home Services program can also provide support services and care like laundry, housekeeping, and shopping. You can find more information by calling (616) 667-4663 or visiting them online.
