Small fire at Mackinac Island shops

MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — A small fire broke out a a building on Mackinac Island Wednesday afternoon.

The small fire was in a structure that houses two retail shops, both of which were empty when the fire started around 3 p.m., according to the director of the convention bureau.

The Mackinac Island Fire Department and St. Ignace firefighters responded out of an abundance of caution. The fire was quickly put out.

No one was hurt.
