4-year-old rides bike into traffic, hit by vehicle

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A 4-year-old boy is recovering at a hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Kalamazoo Friday afternoon.

Around 4:15 p.m., Kalamazoo officers were called out to the 1700 block of North Rose St on a report of a child that was struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a crying 4-year-old boy lying in the road. He had visible injuries to his head.

Witnesses told officers that the child was riding his bike down the driveway and the kid went out into the roadway.

A vehicle going northbound on N Rose St hit the child. The child was transported to a Kalamazoo hospital and is currently in stable condition with minor bumps and bruises.
