DUTTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kent County authorities say they have identified a bicyclist who suffered a medical emergency Sunday.

Emergency responders were called to the 7000 block of Dutton Avenue SE, in the area of 68th Street and Hanna Lake Avenue just south of Kentwood, around 4:30 p.m., according to a release from the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

There, they found a man experiencing a medical emergency, the nature of which authorities did not specify. His condition was unknown Sunday evening.

The man was not carrying ID, so around 6:30 p.m., the sheriff’s department asked for the public’s help to identify him.

About two hours later, the sheriff’s department said it had identified the bicyclist as a 69-year-old Gaines Township man and that his family had been notified.

The sheriff’s department said it became involved to help medical personnel and that it would not be investigating further.
