The Van Andel Institute honors Maranda

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) In West Michigan, the color purple has come to mean one thing: the Van Andel Institute. The organization’s Purple Community allows people to create a fundraising event based on their personal passion.

The Purple Community has done so much to raise money for the work at VAI, but it can’t happen without the help of people who volunteer their time. Recently, the institute honored five women in West Michigan for their efforts, calling them Angels of Excellence. One of our very own at WOOD TV8 was one of them, Maranda.
