Anonymous donor pays off students’ lunch debts

GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — An anonymous donor has given more than $2,000 to settle Grandville students’ overdue lunch accounts.

“She explained that in her youth, she did not come from a family of means and often times struggled to have funds to pay for her lunch,” Grandville Public Schools Ron Caniff said. “She is now in a position where she felt very blessed, fortunate, and wanted to pay it forward to help families today who may be facing similar circumstances.”

The money will pay off every debt at two buildings.

“Hopefully this might be a catalyst for other families and others within our community and throughout West Michigan to engage in similar acts,” Caniff continued.
