Highlights: Whitecaps beat Hot Rods

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The West Michigan Whitecaps beat the Bowling Green Hot Rods Wednesday in front of a Kid’s Day crowd at Fifth Third Ballpark.

The Whitecaps won it 5-4 on a walk-off sacrifice bunt error in the 13th inning.

Also Wednesday, Ben Verlander, brother of the Detroit Tigers’ Justin Verlander, hit his first home run of the year for the Whitecaps.
