GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A Grand Rapids Griffins’ player gave a pint-sized fan the memory of a lifetime during the team’s last regular-season game.

Jordin Tootoo, a 31-year-old right wing for the Griffins, was walking off the ice on April 18 during pre-game warm-ups when he encountered Camden, a member of the Griffins Kids Club who was named the “Countdown Kid” for the game.

According to Camden’s dad, Brett Smith, Tootoo is Camden’s favorite player.

So when Tootoo passed the boy – who was hoping for a high five – and handed him his stick instead, Smith said his son didn’t know how to react.
