KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hurt in a Sunday afternoon shooting in Kalamazoo.

It happened around 4:20 p.m. in the 700 block of Trimble Avenue near E. Main, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

Before officers got to the scene, two people were taken to a local hospital. A 23-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the foot and was later released. A 24-year-old was shot in the back and was listed in stable condition Sunday evening.

KDPS said multiple people were seen running from the scene. One was described as a 5-foot-9, skinny black male wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and tan boots.
