Fire investigation after small blaze at Bay Pointe Inn

SHELBYVILLE, Mich. (WOOD)– Firefighters are investigating after a small fire sparked at the Bay Pointe Inn near Gun Lake.

Officials on scene told 24 Hour News 8 that an employee at the hotel saw smoke while outside the building and called 911. The hotel was evacuated. It’s unknown how many guests and employees were at the hotel at the time of the fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze fairly quickly. However, they are still on scene while they air out the building and investigate the cause.
