Body found floating at Traverse City marina

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) — Traverse City police say a man’s body has been found floating in Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay at the downtown municipal marina.

Capt. Mike Ayling says a 35-year-old woman from West Branch was walking on a dock at Clinch Park Marina around noon Monday and saw the body of a middle-aged man. A dive team recovered the body, which had numerous tattoos and long black hair.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Investigators are using photos of missing persons in an effort to identify the man.
