GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A big beer event is coming to downtown Grand Rapids. Fifty-three teams of home brewers will be on Calder Plaza for the second annual Big Brew on the Calder. The event is sponsored by Siciliano’s Market, who’s donating the ingredients for all of the five gallon all-grain batches of beer. The brewers will be making batches of Beer City Brown. They are all expected to be done by 1 p.m., when Grand Rapids City Commissioner Rosalynn Bliss will lead a toast to the enriching hobby of home brewing. There will be entertainment by Jimmie Stagger. The event is free and open to the public.
