Fresh food with a touch of heart

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) It can be fun to search out a different restaurant that serves up something unique. One place that fits the bill is Manna Café in Grand Rapids. They make much of their food from scratch, smoke their own meats, and have a full-time pastry chef.

Manna Café also has the goal of helping people in poverty-stricken countries. Their market area is stocked with handmade items from people in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, purchased on a fair-trade basis. All net profits made from selling the items goes to support Manna Ministries’ lending programs, which help people in impoverished areas achieve financial independence through entrepreneurship.

Manna Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week. They plan to open for dinner in the fall. It is located at 820 Forest Hill Avenue SE in Grand Rapids.
