Bike out loud

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) This weekend marks the one year anniversary since the tragic loss of a beloved West Michigan music teacher. Jeff Looman was band director at Calvin Christian School, and was also an avid cyclist. He was killed while out on a bicycle ride last May.

On Saturday, May 3, a special bike ride will be held to celebrate the life of Jeff Looman. It’s called Bike Out Loud. There will be rides for all skill levels, ranging between three and 30 miles. All rides will begin and end at Millennium Park in Grand Rapids. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the rides begin at 9 a.m.

The event is $25 per person. Students are $15 and families are $50. You can print out a registration form online and send it with payment to Calvin Christian Schools, or register online using PayPal. If you can’t ride but want to help, you can volunteer at the event. Click here for more details on volunteering.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Calvin Christian Music Department and Volunteers In Service.
