GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) It’s a sign of summer and a great way to enjoy the outdoors: Binder Park Zoo is now open for the season! Kari Parker and Amanda Bailiss brought in “Stomper” the armadillo to talk about some of the great things happening at the zoo this season.
The black bear exhibit is now open. The three cubs were orphaned in the wild and were rescued in 2012.
Binder Park Zoo is participating in a special deal during the month of May. The Southwest Michigan Cultural Membership Exchange offers free admission to five area attractions with just one membership price. They include Binder Park Zoo, Kalamazoo Museum, Kalamazoo Nature Center, Gilmore Car Museum, and Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.
The zoo is honoring moms by offering free admission on Mothers Day for any mom who comes in with her kids or grandkids. Mothers Day is Sunday, May 11.
Binder Park Zoo is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is located at 7400 Division Drive in Battle Creek.
