Memorial bike ride for local band director

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A community is coming together this weekend for a memorial bike ride in honor of Calvin Christian School’s long-time band director who died last year.

Jeffrey Looman, 55, was hit by a car while riding his bike last May.

Organizers said Jeff shared a love of God, music, and biking.

On Saturday, there will be a ‘Bike Out Loud’ event in memory of Looman. There will be three rides for all skill levels.

All rides will begin and end at Millennium Park. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the rides start at 9 a.m.

It will cost participants $25 to race and $15 for students.
