Jeep hits stroller; kids fall out

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two young kids had to be taken to the hospital after a Jeep ran into the stroller they were in.

A woman was walking on the sidewalk with her three young children in a stroller near the Walgreen’s parking lot exit on 68th Street and Division Avenue in Byron Township around 6 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 20-year-old woman from Marne began to exit the Walgreen’s parking lot and came to a stop at the sidewalk.

The mother noticed the Jeep come to a stop and began walking again along the sidewalk. However, the driver of the Jeep moved forward and hit the stroller.

Two of the kids fell out of the stroller upon impact.

The children were not injured, but were taken to DeVos Children’s Hospital as a precaution.

Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
