Man, child hospitalized after I-96 crash

CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man and child were hospitalized after crashing off I-96 in Ottawa County Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 2:10 p.m. in the westbound lanes near 112th avenue in Crockery Township, south of Nunica, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

41-year-old Norman Moore, from Grand Rapids, was heading west in a white Pontiac Grand Am when he veered off the road and hit some trees.

Moore and his 8-year-old passenger, who was in the backseat, were trapped in the vehicle after the crash and extracated.

They were both taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
