Kzoo credit union robber sought


KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – Police are searching for a man who robbed a credit union in Kalamazoo on Monday morning while armed.

It happened at Preferred Credit Union at 4245 S. Westnedge Avenue around 10 a.m., according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

The suspect entered the credit union and demanded money from the tellers, and then took off on foot, headed north on S. Westnedge Avenue, police said.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black man with a small build, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, and was seen wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt with orange writing on the front, baggy jeans and white tennis shoes, police said. He was also wearing a blue backpack.
