GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One teenager was arrested after Grand Rapids Police chased the teens to a house where they found sawed-off shotguns and hand guns.
After midnight Monday, Grand Rapids Police approached two teenagers on Alexander Elementary School grounds. One of the teens started running and led police on a foot chase.
Police believed the teen had a weapon on him because the suspect was holding onto his waistband.
The suspect ran into a home in the 1000 block of Hancock Street SE. Police went into the house and found the suspect in the basement. Police also found two sawed-off shotguns and two handguns.
The suspect, a 17-year-old male, will be charged as an adult with carrying a concealed weapon.
The second teenager was not arrested and has not been identified.
