MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — A second suspect has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Muskegon Heights basketball player Marquis Gresham.
19-year-old Ryheim Beasley was arraigned in Muskegon District Court Monday and was charged with open murder.
Beasley was already being held on a perjury charge in the case.
Police say Beasley and 20-year-old Shundarius Lawson were involved in gunning down Marquis Gresham in a drive by shooting back on April 23rd.
Gresham was walking along Rotterdam Avenue near Fifth Street in Muskegon Heights. He was on his way to his post-season basketball banquet the night he was killed.
Both suspects were arrested a day after. Lawson was charged with open murder last week.
Prosecutors are still working out details of who actually pulled the trigger. Beaslye’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 12th.
