Experience the magic of Madama Butterfly

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) The musical magic of Madama Butterfly has been capturing the hearts of audiences for more than 100 years. Now you can see it live on stage at DeVos Performance Hall. Opera Grand Rapids will present the timeless and romantic production under new executive director Anne Berquist and Artistic Director Robert Lyall.

Madama Butterfly tells the tragic tale of a geisha’s love for an American naval officer. The Puccini opera was the inspiration for Miss Saigon and Memoirs of a Geisha. It is the seventh most performed opera in the world. Madama Butterfly will be at DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10. Tickets range from $21 to $98.

A discount is available for groups of six or more.
